On this page I'll add in one or two 'Scouting' pictures which I like and I hope you will too. If you don't like them, please don't lose any sleep about it because I'm not going to.

In September 2004 the Scout Leaders of the 44th Swansea Scout Troop attended the wood badge re-union in Gilwell Park. This is us next to the statute of the boy scout near the main square. An excellent weekend was had by all concerned especially as it was really the first time we had got together as a team because 2 of us are new to the group. It was officially a team building excercise of the best kind.

In the picture above you can see were are doing a bit of socialising, obviously compulsory on this sort of weekend.

Below we have Mr Stephen Burgess a very old and respected Scout Leader. In his early years Steve worked as Benny Hill's stunt double but since Benny is no longer with us he has found it hard to obtain employment in that field of late.

Above you can see a group picture with Sue the new Chief Commissioner for Wales who dropped in for a chat and a beer. Good job too as it meant we had an empty bottle to use as a roling pin the next day. Otherwise we would have been stuck.

As part of the inauguration ceremony a Chief Scout's Picnic was held on the training field in Gilwell. We all had to take picnics along so we decided to make fresh Welsh cakes and hand them out to other picnickers. Although we had had to improvise on the tools for the job (rolling pin - empty Grolsch bottle - cake cutter - jam jar lid) they were delicious if we say so ourselves and it brought a little culture to the event as well.

The picture above shows us running our improvised bakery.

Here we are with the new Chief Scout of the UK - Peter Duncan. Alternatively you could say it's the new Chief Scout of the UK with us. As you can see he's munching on a Welsh Cake that Eddie had given him. He must have enjoyed it as he gave it a mention when he got back to the stage for the closing cermony.
